Allen & Gledhill announces admission of new Partner
12 Jun 2017

Allen & Gledhill is pleased to announce the admission of a new Partner, Scott Clements, to our Singapore office with effect from 12 June 2017.

The strength of Allen & Gledhill’s full-time competition practice, which has been named “Singapore’s leading competition practice” by Global Competition Review in its 2012 and 2015 triennial country surveys of the Republic’s competition bar, and is ranked Tier 1 by Chambers Asia-Pacific and The Legal 500 Asia Pacific, will be augmented by Scott’s joining of its Partner ranks.

Scott is qualified as an advocate and solicitor of Singapore, and a barrister and solicitor of the High Court of New Zealand. He is recognised as a leading competition lawyer by Chambers Asia-Pacific, The Legal 500 Asia Pacific and Who’s Who Legal.

Scott was involved in the first set of appeals made to the Competition Appeal Board of Singapore in respect of a cartel matter, and in the appeal of Singapore’s first-ever abuse of dominance case. The Allen & Gledhill competition team, which comprises former staff of the CCS, will also be bolstered by Scott’s experience as a former officer of the New Zealand Competition Commission. In Chambers Asia-Pacific (2017), it was observed that Scott “brings the perspective of a former competition regulator to the table, which is very valuable.”

The admission of Scott will further enhance Allen & Gledhill’s capabilities as the largest and most experienced dedicated competition practice in Singapore and ASEAN across all aspects of competition law, antitrust, and merger control.
