Au Huey Ling has been a Partner in Financial Services since 2000. She specialises in debt capital markets and has considerable experience advising underwriters, issuers and trustees in local and international debt offerings, including on bank capital issues, convertible/exchangeable bonds, medium term note programmes and vanilla bond issues. Recent transactions of significance in which she has been involved include advising:

 

Oversea-Chinese Banking Corporation Limited on an exchange offer for up to approximately S$1 billion Notes, the first exchange offer of debt securities that qualify as regulatory capital in Singapore;

Flextronics International Ltd (a Singapore-incorporated NASDAQ-listed company) on its tender offer to purchase up to US$250 million of convertible subordinated notes;

DBS Bank Ltd, Standard Chartered Bank and DBS Trustee Limited in the establishment of a S$300 million multicurrency debt issuance programme by Hyflux Ltd;

Standard Chartered Bank and British and Malayan Trustees Limited in the establishment of a S$500 million multicurrency medium term note programme by Parkway Life MTN Pte Ltd. The Notes are guaranteed by HSBC Institutional Trust Services (Singapore) Limited (in its capacity as trustee of Parkway Life Real Estate Investment Trust);

FCT MTN Pte Ltd in the establishment of its S$500 million multicurrency medium term note programme;

Asia Pacific Breweries Limited in the establishment of its S$1 billion multicurrency medium term note programme; and

Oversea-Chinese Banking Corporation Limited in the issue of S$225 million subordinated notes due 2017 callable with step-up in 2012. This was the first Singapore dollar denominated lower tier two subordinated notes issued by a Singapore-incorporated bank.

 

Huey Ling is also involved in a significant portion of the foreign debt/preference share issues listed on the Singapore Exchange Securities Trading Limited.

Huey Ling is praised in The Asia Pacific Legal 500 (2008/2009). Huey Ling was called to the Singapore Bar in 1995 and spent a year on secondment to Linklaters, London in 1998/1999 where she was actively involved in international MTN, bond and commercial paper issues.
