Cara Chan is a Partner in Financial Services. Her practice covers debt capital markets, structured finance and derivatives. Cara’s present specialisations include advising major financial institutions on retail offerings of structured notes in Singapore.
An LLB (Hons) degree graduate of University College London, Cara joined Allen & Gledhill in 2000 and was called to the Singapore Bar in 2001. In 2003, Cara joined the Tokyo office of Linklaters, Allen & Gledhill's joint law venture partner, where she practised in the fields of international capital markets, structured finance and derivatives.
Her work experience in Tokyo included advising arrangers on repackagings, CDOs and securitisations and she co-authored an article on the Japanese synthetic securitisation market for the Legal Supplement of the International Securitisation Report.
Cara also advised underwriters on international listings of eurobonds, Japanese convertible bonds and medium term note programmes.
Upon her return from Japan, Cara rejoined Allen & Gledhill in 2007. In addition to having been called to the Singapore Bar, Cara has been admitted to the Roll of Solicitors in England and Wales.
