Chan Hian Young has been a Partner in Litigation & Dispute Resolution since 1996. His areas of practice include property, trust, equity, family, wills and probate, and corporate and general commercial law. Hian Young also has experience in construction law.
Another area of his practice is employment law. He advises employers and employees on employment issues such as employment contracts, termination of employment, post-employment restrictive covenants, protection of trade secrets and confidential information, income tax and Central Provident Fund issues.
His other areas of expertise include advising on insurance, including marine and liability insurance, and professional negligence.
Besides representing parties in court proceedings, Hian Young also represents parties in arbitrations.
Hian Young graduated from the National University of Singapore with an LLB (Hons) degree. He was called to the Singapore Bar in 1988. Prior to joining Allen & Gledhill in 1993, he was in the Singapore Legal Service. In 1996, he became a Partner in Litigation & Dispute Resolution.
