Christian Chin is a Partner in Corporate Mergers & Acquisitions. His areas of practice include mergers and acquisitions, corporate restructuring, joint ventures, employment law and general commercial contracts.

Significant transactions in which Christian has been involved include advising:

 

Singapore Telecommunications Limited in their bid to build a high-speed broadband network for Singapore;

Cheung Kong Holdings and Keppel Land in their respective disposals of a one-third interest each in One Raffles Quay, a major office building in Singapore’s Central Business District;

CDL Hospitality Trusts in its acquisition of Novotel Clarke Quay;

Kerzner International in their bid for the integrated resort to be built on Sentosa Island, Singapore;

CapitaCommercial Trust and CapitaMall Trust on the joint acquisition of Raffles City;

Raffles Holdings Limited on the sale of all of its hotel and related businesses to Colony HR Acquisitions, LLC - this deal was awarded the Asian Legal Business Singapore M&A Deal of the Year 2006; and

NatSteel Ltd on the sale of all of its steel and related businesses to the Tata Iron and Steel Company Limited of India.

 

Christian graduated from the National University of Singapore with an LLB (Hons) degree in 1999. He was called to the Singapore Bar in 2000 and was admitted to the Roll of Solicitors England and Wales in 2002.

Christian holds an MBA from the F.W. Olin Graduate School of Business at Babson College, where he was awarded the Babson Fellowship. He has also been awarded the Ethics Award by the Singapore Medical Association, and the Tun Salleh Award by the American Universities Alumni of Malaysia.

Christian has been a Legal Case Studies Instructor at the NUS Law School since 2006.
