Bor Jern is a partner in Financial Services. His area of specialisation is capital markets, including real estate investment trusts.

Recent completed significant transactions in which Bor Jern has been involved in include:

 

the initial public offering of CDL Hospitality Trusts stapled group which issues stapled securities comprising units in a real estate investment trust and a business trust;

the initial public offerings of Mapletree Logistics Trust, Allco Commercial Real Estate Investment Trust, Macquarie MEAG Prime Real Estate Investment Trust and Suntec Real Estate Investment Trust;

the initial public offering of Pacific Shipping Trust, the first business trust registered in Singapore;

the introduction of CapitaCommercial Trust;

the acquisition of Raffles City by CapitaCommercial Trust and CapitaMall Trust through an unlisted special purpose sub-trust;

the secondary offerings of Mapletree Logistics Trust, CapitaMall Trust, CapitaCommercial Trust, Fortune Real Estate Investment Trust and Ascott Residence Trust; and

the reverse take-over involving China Merchants Holdings (Pacific) Limited, China Merchants Holdings (International) Co, Ltd and five toll road assets in the People's Republic of China.

 

Bor Jern has also advised a number of banks, financial institutions and corporations on fund-raising and other capital markets matters, and legal and regulatory compliance issues.

Bor Jern graduated in 1999 from the National University of Singapore, where he was the chief editor of the law review. Prior to joining Allen & Gledhill in 2004, he was an associate in the Singapore office of a U.S. law firm. Bor Jern was called to the Singapore Bar in 2000.
