Foong Yuen Ping is a Partner in Financial Services. Her areas of expertise include capital markets, mergers and acquisitions, cross-border joint ventures, sale of businesses, and business and group restructuring. She also advises on continuing listing obligations, corporate regulatory and compliance issues.

Transactions which she has been involved in include:

 

various initial public offerings of business trusts, real estate investment trusts and companies, including Pacific Shipping Trust (the first business trust listed in Singapore), Ascendas India Trust (the first listed property trust structured as a business trust in Singapore), Frasers Centrepoint Trust, CapitaRetail China Trust and ARA Asset Management Limited, as well as various secondary offerings;

the establishment and structuring of various private equity property funds;

the US$3.6 billion joint venture in the semiconductor foundry industry between United Microelectronics Corporation, Infineon Technologies AG and EDB Investments Pte Ltd;

the global business sale between Goodrich Corporation and TRW Inc. involving the sale of the aeronautical parts and components business from TRW Inc. to Goodrich Corporation worldwide, particularly Singapore, China, Hong Kong and India;

the cross-border joint venture between Consignia plc, TNT Post N.V., Singapore Post Limited which covers the global postal network of the parties;

the business merger and restructuring between certain Hitachi and Mitsubishi Electric entities spanning multiple jurisdictions;

project finance for the first sea-water desalination plant in Singapore involving the Public Utilities Board of Singapore and SingSpring Pte Ltd, a subsidiary of Hyflux Limited;

the acquisition of participation interests in a S$143 million facility agreement by Rochor Investment Ltd (an associated company of Keppel Land Limited) and CapitaLand Retail (BJ1) Holdings Pte Ltd; and

the acquisition by CIMB Berhad through its wholly-owned subsidiary, CIMB-GK Pte Ltd, of stockbroking/securities companies owned by G.K. Goh Holdings Limited at a consideration of S$239.14 million in various jurisdictions including Singapore, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Malaysia and the United Kingdom.


Yuen Ping was seconded to Linklaters, London for six months from April to October 2004 where she worked on private investment and private equity deals. She graduated from the National University of Singapore with an LLB (Hons) degree and was called to the Singapore Bar in 1998.
