Penny Goh is Head of Corporate Real Estate. She regularly acts for domestic and foreign investors, government-linked and public-listed corporations, property funds, asset managers and other institutional real estate advisors, in all aspects of corporate real estate transactions. Her areas of specialisation include real estate investment trusts, private equity property funds, regional investments, direct and indirect acquisitions, joint development schemes and asset restructuring.

Transactions in which she has been involved include:

 

advising institutional clients in major investments, acquisitions, divestments and joint development of commercial office projects in Singapore, including the Marina Bay Financial Centre and recently Capital Square and Ocean Financial Centre;

advising global property funds in their regional acquisitions and investments in Japan, Korea and PRC;

acting in the establishment of Singapore’s first certified Shari’ah compliant Real Estate Investment Trust and the concurrent acquisition of a substantial portfolio of industrial assets from third party vendors on the listing; and

acting in the establishment of a S$3 billion open end real estate fund which is one of the largest private equity property funds in Southeast Asia for institutional investors, and the concurrent acquisition and consolidation of 11 retail malls in Singapore and Malaysia on its first closing.

A graduate of the National University of Singapore with an LLB (Hons) degree and a member of the Singapore Bar, Penny has been a Partner since 1982. She is recommended as a leading specialist in corporate real estate practice by a number of legal publications including Chambers Asia, IFLR 1000 and The Asia Pacific Legal 500. She has also been nominated by her peers to appear in The International Who’s Who of Real Estate Lawyers.
