Lim Pek Bur is a Partner of the Firm's Tax Practice Group. Her areas of expertise cover income tax, Goods and Services Tax (GST), stamp duty, probate and estate duty, trust and estate planning.

Pek Bur comes from a background of varied experience. Upon graduating in 1995, she joined the legal service as a Public Prosecutor where she conducted trials in the High Court of Singapore, before moving on to join a local firm with a leading tax practice. Pek Bur was also a Senior Manager of the Singapore Land Authority prior to joining Allen & Gledhill.

Transactions in which she has been involved in include:
 
•

providing income tax, stamp duty and GST advice on mergers and acquisitions, corporate group restructurings, corporate real estate joint ventures and development, business transfers and start-up business ventures;
•

advising on tax structuring for REITs, private equity funds and collective investments schemes for onshore and offshore investments;
•

advising fund managers, REIT managers, investment bankers and other financial service providers on tax and GST issues on their services;
•

providing income tax, stamp duty and GST advice on financing and investment structures including asset securitisation, aircraft and ship financing;
•

advising on application of tax treaties and treaty interpretation;
•

representing clients for tax disputes, audit, litigation and tax ruling matters; and
•

trust and estate planning for high-net worth individuals onshore and offshore.

Pek Bur graduated from the National University of Singapore with an LLB (Hons) degree and was called to the Singapore Bar in 1998. She became a Partner of the Firm in 2006.
