Long Jek Aun is a Partner in Financial Services. His experience lies mainly in investment funds (including private equity and hedge funds), regulatory work and advising on local and international equity offerings.

Recent matters of significance in which he has been involved include:

 

acting as transaction counsel for the establishment and launch of the HFG Korea Fund (a fund of hedge funds);

acting as transaction counsel for the establishment and launch of a China-focused private equity fund for HOPU Investment Management;

acting as Singapore counsel to Advantage Partners in relation to the establishment of an equity securities private equity fund;

acting as transaction counsel for the establishment of Imprimis Strategic Investment Corporation (NBD) Sdn Bhd, a Brunei-based private equity fund;

advising HSBC in their role as placement agent in respect of the Banyan Tree Indochina Hospitality Fund;

Babcock & Brown Structured Finance Fund Limited's initial public offering and listing on the Singapore Exchange Securities Trading Limited;

Macquarie International Infrastructure Fund Limited's initial public offering and listing on the Singapore Exchange Securities Trading Limited;

advising various private equity and hedge fund managers (including those based in the US, Europe, Japan and Hong Kong) on the establishment of their Singapore operations and the structuring of their investment funds; and

advising various institutional investors on their investments into various private equity funds and hedge funds.

 

Jek Aun graduated from the University of Nottingham with an LLB (Hons) degree in 1996 and completed the Postgraduate Diploma in Singapore Law at the National University of Singapore in 1997. He was called to the Singapore Bar in 1998 and admitted to the Roll of Solicitors, England and Wales in 2001. Prior to joining Allen & Gledhill in 2003, Jek Aun was involved in a broad range of corporate and financial services work at various law firms in Singapore and Hong Kong. While in Hong Kong, he specialised in investment funds, securities and regulatory work in the Hong Kong office of an international ‘magic circle’ law firm. Jek Aun’s past speaking engagements include speaking at Euromoney Legal Training’s professional development course on “Asset Management - Legal, Regulatory & Compliance Issues” in Singapore in 2005. Jek Aun is a member of AIMA.
