Margaret Chew joined Allen & Gledhill as a Partner in 2001 and heads the Knowledge Management team. In this role, she oversees the Firm's knowledge management initiatives including producing legal updates/bulletins and other publications, co-ordinating the distribution of legal materials, overseeing research resources and library purchases, spearheading precedent development projects, maintaining and developing knowledge/knowhow taxonomies and databases, administering training and continuing professional development programmes, and assisting lawyers with their speaking and writing engagements.
Prior to joining Allen & Gledhill, Margaret was an Assistant Professor and Sub-Dean, Graduate Division, of the Faculty of Law, National University of Singapore, where she taught company law, contract law and securities regulation. She has written articles for the Singapore Journal of Legal Studies and the Singapore Journal of International and Comparative Law and is the author of Minority Shareholders' Rights and Remedies (2nd Edition, 2007 LexisNexis).
Margaret graduated with a BA (Hons) degree in Law from Oxford University (Brasenose College) and holds an LLM from the National University of Singapore. She is a member of Gray’s Inn and the Hong Kong Bar, and was called to the Singapore Bar in 1993.
