Margaret Soh joined Corporate Real Estate as a Partner in 1989. Her areas of practice include real estate project financing, banking and mortgage finance, real estate finance, and securitisation. Margaret frequently advises and acts for major property companies in their acquisitions, divestments and development/restructuring transactions.

Transactions in which she has been involved include the following:

 

acted for South Beach Consortium, a joint venture company established by City Developments, Dubai World and El-Ad Group in its acquisition of the Beach Road site for an acquisition value of over S$1.68 billion for development of a major commercial complex comprising hotels, office, retail mall and city residences;

acted for Frasers Centrepoint Ltd in its en bloc acquisition of 'Flamingo Valley' at an acquisition value of S$194 million;

acted for Singapore Exchange Limited in the sale of their properties in SGX Centre with leaseback arrangements;

acted for a CapitaLand subsidiary in structuring, negotiating and finalising various joint venture structures with Sun Hung Kai for the acquisition and development of Orchard Turn and separate ownership of retail and residential components;

acted for Credit Suisse and CLSA Capital Partners (Singapore) in the sale of 78 Shenton Way at a divestment value of over S$650 million;

acted for a CapitaLand entity and National University of Singapore in their divestment of Hitachi Tower to a Goldman Sachs real estate fund through a sale of shares in the asset holding company with a transaction value of S$811 million for Hitachi Tower;

acted for CapitaCommercial Trust in its acquisition of a 23-storey grade A office building known as One George Street at a value of S$1.17 billion, and in the structuring, negotiations and finalising of various agreements in the acquisition of the Raffles City for a divestment value of over S$2 billion; and

acted for CapitaMall Trust in its acquisition of The Atrium at Dhoby Ghaut at an acquisition value of S$839 million.

Margaret graduated from the National University of Singapore with an LLB (Hons) degree. She was called to the Singapore Bar in 1981. She joined Allen & Gledhill as a Partner in 1989. Margaret is cited as a leading corporate real estate practitioner by The Asia Pacific Legal 500 and has also been nominated by her peers to appear in The International Who's Who of Real Estate Lawyers.
