Serena Choo is a Partner in Corporate Real Estate. Her practice encompasses direct and indirect real estate acquisitions and divestments, property financing, asset restructuring and securitisation. She frequently acts for major institutional clients including real estate investment trusts, listed real estate developers, multi-national corporations, property funds and asset managers on major corporate real estate transactions.

Serena’s transactional experience includes advising:
 
•

on the establishment of Fortune Real Estate Investment Trust, a property unit trust listed on the SGX-ST as the first Singapore-listed property trust investing in Hong Kong shopping malls;
•

on the establishment of the Suntec Real Estate Investment Trust, a property trust listed on the SGX-ST with the acquisition of the Suntec City Mall and Suntec City Office Towers; and
•

real estate investment trusts in their acquisition of a number of major commercial properties in Singapore.
 

Serena graduated from the University of Bristol, UK with an LLB (Hons) degree in 2001 and was called to the Singapore Bar in 2003 when she joined Allen & Gledhill. Between May 2006 and November 2006, she was seconded to the banking group of Linklaters (Hong Kong) where she assisted and advised on REIT and project financing matters.
