Danny Tan is a Partner in Financial Services. His areas of practice encompass capital markets, mergers and acquisitions, and corporate advisory work for listed companies. He also advises financial institutions, asset management companies and investment funds (including hedge funds) on licensing, fund-raising, listing and general regulatory compliance issues.

Recent transactions that Danny has been involved in include:

•	acting for sponsors in the establishment of new real estate funds and their liaison with potential investors as well as acting for institutional investors of various real estate funds;
•	advising fund managers on regulatory issues of their Singapore operations and structuring issues in their establishment of hedge funds and private equity funds in both onshore and offshore jurisdictions;
•	the restructuring of debts owed by a private limited company to a private equity fund;
•	the cross-border sale of a China-incorporated foreign bank of an Indonesian pulp and paper conglomerate to private equity buyers; and
•	the initial public offering of Banyan Tree Holdings Limited and the rights issue and placement exercises by various SGX mainboard listed companies.

Danny has also acted in various corporate restructurings including advising and acting for a US media group in the transfers of the Singapore businesses as part of their worldwide restructuring and rebranding exercise and an Indonesian property development conglomerate on the restructuring of their Singapore business assets.

Danny graduated from the National University of Singapore with an LLB (Hons) degree in 1999. He was called to the Singapore Bar in 2000 and has been admitted to the Roll of Solicitors, England and Wales, as a non-practising member since 2003.

Prior to joining Allen & Gledhill, Danny was with another leading Singapore law firm for seven years and did a stint in Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer in London. He also taught in the Legal Case Studies programme of the NUS Law School for a couple of years.
