Tan Wee Meng is a Partner in Corporate & Commercial and a member of the Firm's Telecommunications, Energy and Infrastructure Group.
Wee Meng has acted as project counsel to financiers, sponsors and developers of infrastructure and public private partnership projects relating to wafer fabrication plants, waste incineration plants, waste water treatment plants, submarine cable systems, utilities supply and storage facilities and desalination plants. He is familiar with the preparation and negotiation of project documentation as well as the supply and service arrangements required for the establishment, operation and maintenance of commercial plants, including gas and utilities supply agreements, manufacturing agreements and distribution and logistics services agreements.
Wee Meng also advises on regulatory matters relating to the gas, electricity, telecommunications and media industries. He is regulatory counsel to several major operators in these regulated industries, advising on matters such as licensing and compliance, merger controls, price regulation and anti-competitive behaviour, import and export restrictions and advertising standards. Wee Meng has also assisted international and regional telecommunications and media operators with establishing their operations in Singapore, including submarine cable systems (both privately and consortium owned), IPTV services and services based operations.
Wee Meng graduated with an LLB (Hons) degree from the National University of Singapore in 1996 and was called to the Singapore Bar in 1997. He became a Partner in Allen & Gledhill in 2004. Wee Meng is recommended for regulatory communications in Who’s Who Legal: Singapore 2008.
