Tan Xeauwei is a Partner in Litigation & Dispute Resolution. Her practice encompasses corporate litigation (such as shareholders' disputes, breaches of directors' duties and contractual claims), banking litigation and international arbitration. She also represents and advises clients on employment and property disputes.

Some of the clients whom Xeauwei has represented and advised include:

 

shareholders/directors in a complex oppression action involving numerous suits brought by and/or against the minority shareholders/directors of a holding company involved in the shipping and timber business;

a shareholder/director in a shareholders' dispute involving numerous related actions under the Singapore Companies Act brought by and/or against the other shareholders/directors of family-owned investment holding companies;

various international and European banks in claims by customers in relation to the alleged mismanagement of their accounts;

an international bank in a claim by its customer over alleged breaches of duties and/or misrepresentations as well as alleged breaches of legislation and/or industry codes and guidelines in relation to the services provided by it;

a trust company in a dispute concerning assets in a trust fund;

an accounting firm in relation to disputes over alleged professional negligence in respect of audit services provided;

a major European airline in various SIAC arbitrations in relation to disputes with its Indonesian and Thai counterparties over the provision of IT services; and

a Malaysian company in an SIAC arbitration in relation to a dispute over the provision of management services for a power plant project.

 

Xeauwei graduated from the National University of Singapore with an LLB (Hons) degree and was called to the Singapore Bar in 2003, passing the bar examinations in the top 10 of her year's cohort. She was seconded to Essex Court Chambers in 2008/2009 where she worked with leading English Queen's Counsel on a range of commercial litigation and arbitration disputes in London.
