Tan Boon Wah is a Partner in Corporate Real Estate. His areas of practice encompass direct and indirect acquisitions and divestments, private equity property funds and regional investments.

His recent transaction experience includes:

 

advising the listed fund manager ARA Asset Management Limited in the establishment of ARA Asia Dragon Limited, a US$1 billion Bermuda based private equity closed-end property fund, to invest in real estate in Asia with primary focus on real estate in China, Singapore, Hong Kong and Malaysia;

advising Saudi Arabian wealth management company Saudi Economic and Development Company in a S$760 million joint venture with listed Keppel Land Limited for the acquisition and development of landmark waterfront projects in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia;

advising a Bermuda based private equity property fund in a joint venture deal with a Thai property developer to acquire and develop land parcels in the eastern suburb of Bangkok, with an investment commitment of over Baht 3.7 billion;

advising Singapore Airlines Limited in the tender and sale of the SIA Building at a divestment value of S$343.88 million;

advising in the divestment of the Raffles City complex comprising two hotels, convention centre, office tower and retail mall at a divestment value of over S$2 billion;

advising MacarthurCook Industrial REIT in its acquisition of two industrial properties with an aggregate value of over S$30 million; and

advising private equity property funds on direct and indirect acquisitions of commercial and industrial properties.

 

Boon Wah graduated from the National University of Singapore with an LLB (Hons) degree in 2000 and obtained an LLM in 2003. He was called to the Singapore Bar in 2001. Prior to joining the firm in 2005, Boon Wah served a four-year undergraduate scholarship bond at the Housing and Development Board. Between October 2006 and April 2007, he had a stint in the London office of Linklaters where he assisted and advised on cross-border transactions and corporate restructuring matters.
