Vignesh Vaerhn is a Partner in Intellectual Property practice.
Vignesh has extensive experience in many facets of Intellectual Property practice and he focuses on Intellectual Property litigation and enforcement. He has been involved in numerous successful patent infringement/revocation actions across a wide spectrum of industries and products. He has vast experience in trade mark infringement/opposition actions and similarly, copyright infringement actions involving a wide variety of works and subject matter. Through his litigation experience, he has also assisted several clients in the administration of various anti-piracy campaigns in Singapore across a wide spectrum of industries and products and in particular, apparel, consumer electronics, character merchandising, cinematograph films, musical works and print publications.
He also conducts and advises on contentious opposition, revocation and entitlement actions involving patents and trademarks in all levels of Court and Registry proceedings. He has also successfully conducted and advised on several proceedings for the recovery of registered company names, Internet domain names and other Internet domain name disputes.
In addition to advising on contentious Intellectual Property matters, he also advises extensively on various aspects of general Intellectual Property protection and management. He administers and manages trade mark portfolios for local and overseas clients and has advised in the development of intellectual property protection and exploitation strategies for clients.
He also advises on issues in respect of Intellectual Property commercialisation in particular, assignment/franchise agreements, Intellectual Property due diligence, licensing related issues and negotiating license agreements.
He also advises widely on various IT and regulatory issues, the protection of trade secrets and confidential information and as well as requirements of product advertising/claims/labelling. These include advising on the regulatory framework relating to licensing of medicinal products in Singapore and the laws relating to patent linkage for generic pharmaceutical products.
Vignesh graduated from the National University of Singapore with an LLB (Hons) degree in 2002 and was called to the Singapore Bar in 2004. He joined Allen & Gledhill in 2005.
