The Intellectual Property & Technology (IP&T) group advises on a broad range of intellectual property matters in relation to fields as diverse as biotechnology, healthcare, pharmaceuticals, computers, software, media and entertainment. We undertake the full range of enforcement, management and transactional matters.

Our enforcement work includes advising, prosecuting and defending our clients’ IP rights, including making urgent court applications for injunctions and search and seizure orders. We also plan, manage and coordinate regional anti-counterfeiting programmes and also have specialists to undertake information technology (IT) disputes, such as those relating to software projects, technology-licensing and domain names.

Our IP protection & management work encompasses patents, designs, trade marks and trade dress. We advise on the clearance, protection and exploitation of IP rights, as well as manage and co-ordinate our clients’ IP portfolios in Singapore and worldwide. We also undertake IP audits and due diligence exercises.

Our transactional team handles technology and communications matters, including drafting and reviewing contracts, assisting in negotiations, and advising on regulatory compliance. The IP litigation and enforcement team advises on and undertakes contentious matters, in relation to copyrights, trade marks, designs, and patents. The services that we provide include making urgent applications to court for civil and criminal search warrants, interim injunctions and restraining orders.

Technology, Communications, Licensing & Media

Our technology & communications team advises on the commercial aspects of IP and IT rights. We assist in negotiating, drafting and reviewing of IT and IP transactions and agreements, including software turnkey projects, licensing and distribution arrangements and R&D collaboration agreements. We also assist in registering and renewing domain names.

The IP protection & management team counsels clients and develops strategies for the use, protection and exploitation of their trade marks, patents, industrial designs and trade dress. We provide assistance in the clearance of brand names, application and prosecution of trade marks, industrial designs and patents, as well as manage and coordinate their IP portfolios, regionally and on a worldwide basis.

We have a strong patent prosecution team that assists clients in identifying the value of their inventions and developing a patent portfolio and patenting strategy. Our services include preparing specifications for patents in Singapore and worldwide, as well as prosecuting, managing and preparing all related patent documentation. The team has specialised capabilities in the fields of biotechnology, computer software and hardware, electromechanical systems, chemicals and engineering.
