Phan Vinh Nhan is a Partner at Allen & Gledhill (Vietnam), specialising in banking and finance, and mergers and acquisitions.

Nhan regularly advises banks and financial institutions on a broad spectrum of financing transactions, digital and innovative financial products, as well as financial regulatory matters and compliance issues. His deep expertise in banking and finance is further distinguished by extensive experience in mergers and acquisitions within the financial services sector.

Since 2018, Nhan has been recognised by IFLR1000 as a Notable Practitioner for Banking & Finance, and Mergers & Acquisitions. Prior to joining Allen & Gledhill (Vietnam), Nhan was a Partner at a prominent Vietnamese law firm and worked in the legal department of a global bank in Ho Chi Minh City.

Nhan graduated from the Ho Chi Minh City University of Law in 2003 and obtained a Master of Laws from the University of California, Berkeley in 2018. He was called to the Ho Chi Minh Bar in 2009.

  • Advised Fullerton Financial Holdings on the acquisition of a strategic stake in Mekong Development Joint Stock Commercial Bank.*
  • Advised Vietcombank on a merger transaction involving one of its joint venture banks in Vietnam.*
  • Advised ERGO International AG on the acquisition of a strategic stake in Global Insurance Company.*
  • Advised Masan Group on its US$1.1 billion sale of a strategic stake in Masan Consumer Holdings and Masan Brewery to Singha Asia Holding Pte. Ltd.*
  • Advised Masan Group on its US$200 million sale of an additional stake to Kohlberg Kravis Roberts (KKR).*
  • Advised Masan Group and Masan Nutri-Science Corporation (MNS) on a US$250 million investment in MNS by Kohlberg Kravis Roberts (KKR).*
