The Accounting and Corporate Regulatory Authority (“ACRA”) has recently issued updated announcements on the following:

  • A reminder to users to complete BizFile+ transactions before 6pm, 10 December 2020
  • An update that the Register of Registrable Controller (“RORC”) transaction in BizFile+ is scheduled to resume in February 2021

Reminder to complete BizFile+ transactions before 6pm, 10 December 2020

ACRA has reminded users that BizFile+ will be undergoing a major system upgrade and will not be available from 6pm, Thursday, 10 December 2020 to 8am, Tuesday, 15 December 2020.

During this period, BizFile+ users will not be able to lodge any transactions via the portal. This includes all business registrations, filings and endorsements, and applications for refunds. Access to business information including the purchase of business information products from the ACRA iShop and data APIs calls from ACRA API Mall will also not be available.

All BizFile+ users are advised by ACRA to complete any urgent and critical BizFile+ transactions before 6pm, Thursday, 10 December 2020.

Urgent and critical transactions 

ACRA will assess and assist with critical or time sensitive transactions that must be completed during the system upgrade from 10 to 15 December 2020, on a case-by-case basis.

RORC transaction in BizFile+ to resume in February 2021

ACRA has stated that, with effect from 30 July 2020, companies and limited liability partnerships (“LLPs”) are required to lodge RORC information with ACRA via BizFile+ portal, in addition to maintaining their own RORC.

ACRA has updated its announcement that the RORC filing transaction in BizFile+ was suspended in September 2020, and will remain suspended until January 2021. The transaction is scheduled to resume in February 2021. Companies and LLPs will be given up to 30 June 2021 to lodge the RORC information with ACRA.

ACRA will provide more details on the RORC transaction on its website in January 2021.
