“China continues to be an important market for our clients, especially given the increasing cooperation between ASEAN and China through agreements such as the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP). With the enhanced capabilities our Shanghai Office brings, we are better equipped to provide holistic legal services to our clients across Asia, and to help Chinese companies expand and gain a foothold in ASEAN. We are excited with this new venture, and look forward to building strong connections, fostering legal excellence, and contributing to the growth and success of China and our clients.” said Mr Jerry Koh, Managing Partner of Allen & Gledhill.

Our team in Shanghai comprises experienced and bilingual local and international lawyers with long and extensive experience with leading law firms and in China. They bring with them a wealth of expertise in cross-border matters, having worked on many noteworthy transactions in areas such as international mergers and acquisitions, joint venture investments, capital markets, corporate and commercial, banking and finance, real estate, private equity, private wealth, international arbitration, and regulatory and compliance.

Our capabilities in China are further enhanced by our existing expertise in Singapore, Malaysia, Myanmar, Vietnam, and Indonesia, which enable us to provide clients in China and ASEAN with a comprehensive suite of legal services throughout Asia. These services are delivered by locally qualified lawyers who understand the business and regulatory environments of their jurisdiction and have experience working on many significant cross-border matters that cut across various practice areas.

We are confident that our new Shanghai Representative Office will help China businesses navigate the challenging and evolving business and legal landscape across ASEAN, and also serve as a bridge between our clients in ASEAN and around the world, who are looking to expand their businesses in China. We are eager to see how we can better serve our clients with this new venture, and look forward to providing exceptional legal services to them as we grow together from strength to strength.
