Glenn’s area of practice encompasses debt capital markets and regulatory capital.

He has advised managers and a range of issuers across the credit spectrum on tapping the capital markets, covering investment grade corporate hybrids, short-term paper and medium term notes, high yield bonds, and raising of regulatory capital, in the form of preference shares, perpetual securities and debt securities. He also covers a breadth of liability management exercises. He acts for corporates, banks and insurance companies active in Singapore and regionally. Glenn is recognised as a “Rising Star” in the 2020 edition of IFLR1000 for his work in the area of debt capital markets.

Glenn graduated from King's College London with an LL.B. (Hons) degree in 2000 and was called to the Singapore Bar in 2002. He is also a non-practising solicitor of England and Wales, having been admitted to the Roll of Solicitors of England and Wales in 2006.

Prior to rejoining Allen & Gledhill in 2008, Glenn worked in London with a magic circle law firm.  

Work Highlights

  • Acted for DBS on its issue of US$500 million Floating Rate Green Bonds due 2022, the first green bond issuance by a financial institution in Singapore. 
  • Acted for Oversea-Chinese Banking Corporation on its issue of S$500 million 3.80 per cent. non-cumulative non-convertible perpetual capital securities, its debut Basel 3 compliant Additional Tier 1 capital transaction.
  • Acted on various bond issuances and securities programme establishments by various corporates including The Bank of East Asia, Singapore Branch, Golden Agri-Resources, Lippo Malls Indonesia Retail Trust, Mapletree Investments, PT Medco Energi Internasional Tbk and Precious Shipping Public Company Limited.
