Benjamin focuses on complex commercial disputes, and is regularly involved in cases which raise novel points of law. He acts for multinational corporations, banks, REITs, commodity trading firms and high net worth individuals.
Benjamin graduated from the University of Cambridge with a Double First. Upon graduation, he worked in the London and Shanghai offices of a Magic Circle firm. Thereafter, he served as a Justices’ Law Clerk to the Chief Justice and Judges of the Singapore Supreme Court. He has also taught commercial conflict of laws, an area of law which he has a particular interest in, at the Singapore Management University as an adjunct professor.
In 2016, Benjamin was selected for placement under the Singapore Supreme Court’s Young Amicus Curiae Scheme. He is also a contributing editor to the Singapore White Book.
Work Highlights
- Represented Ngee Ann Development in its rent renewal dispute with Takashimaya Singapore in relation to 56,000 square metres of retail space in Ngee Ann City, Orchard Road.
- Represented Cache Logistics Trust in its lease dispute with the C&P Group and Schenker Singapore in relation to the largest freight and logistics property located at the Airport Logistics Park of Singapore.
