Teong Sit’s areas of practice encompass mergers and acquisitions and capital markets in Malaysia. He has also advised on Islamic finance, structured finance and project finance matters. In his 36 years of practice, Teong Sit has acted as lead counsel in connection with many major corporate and financing transactions in Malaysia.
Teong Sit graduated from the National University of Singapore. Prior to joining Allen & Gledhill LLP, Singapore Teong Sit was a Partner for more than 20 years in a leading Malaysian law firm where he headed the Financial Services practice group.
In 2010, Teong Sit was instrumental in the establishment of Rahmat Lim & Partners, an associate firm of Allen & Gledhill LLP, Singapore and has led Rahmat Lim & Partners, first as Managing Partner for the first six years and since then as Chairman and Senior Partner.
Teong Sit has written on various areas of corporate law including the Malaysian aspects of capital market transactions in International Investment Law, an MLR and Butterworth’s publication. Teong Sit has also edited a number of volumes of Malaysian Precedents & Forms published by Malayan Law Journal Sdn. Bhd.
Teong Sit is noted for his experience in corporate/M&A work in leading legal publications such as IFLR1000, Chambers Global and Chambers Asia-Pacific.

Work Highlights
- Advised Goldis on its proposed acquisition of the entire equity interest in IGB not already owned by Goldis, by way of a members’ scheme of arrangement to be undertaken by IGB, for a total consideration of RM1.06 billion.
- Advised Sapura Energy Bhd in its refinancing of RM10.3 billion multi-currency credit facilities through its wholly owned subsidiary, Sapura TMC Sdn. Bhd.
