Indonesia’s President signed the Omnibus Law on Job Creation into law on 2 November 2020, which is also stated to be its promulgation date, resulting in the gazetting of “Law 11 on Job Creation” dated 2 November 2020 (“Omnibus Law”).

This means that as of 2 November 2020, the Omnibus Law came into force, although, many important changes to a wide variety of laws made in the Omnibus Law are still awaiting extensive implementing regulations before many of the new changes to the law can be applied in practice. According to the Omnibus Law provisions, such regulations must be issued by no later than three months after the Omnibus Law’s promulgation date (that is, by no later than 2 February 2021).
