Oene’s main practice areas are mergers and acquisitions and corporate and commercial transactions.
Prior to joining Allen & Gledhill, Oene was a foreign legal counsel with a leading law firm in Indonesia. He has been based in Jakarta, Indonesia since 1999 and has extensive experience in working with international agencies as well as private investors in the region. He is native Dutch; and is proficient in Dutch, Bahasa Indonesia, English, French and German.
Oene is consistently recognised in several leading publications. He has been ranked by Chambers Asia-Pacific and Chambers Global as a leading lawyer in Indonesia for Corporate/M&A: Foreign Legal Consultants, and has also been ranked by The Legal 500 Asia Pacific as a Leading Individual for Foreign Firms (Indonesia). He has also been listed as a Recommended lawyer for Energy in the Who’s Who Legal: Southeast Asia 2024 guide and ranked as Highly Regarded for Capital Markets, M&A and Project Finance by IFLR1000.
Oene graduated with a Juris Doctorate from the University of Amsterdam in 1994 and obtained an LL.M. in 1995 from Duke University.
