Jessie specialises in mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures and corporate restructurings. She has acted for publicly-listed and privately-held entities, private equity funds and financial institutions in a variety of transactions, including banking schemes of transfer and trust schemes of arrangement.

Jessie has significant experience in both domestic and cross-border transactions. She has advised clients across a spectrum of sectors, including banking, shipping and logistics, oil storage, technology and general consumer, manufacturing and distribution.

Jessie graduated from the National University of Singapore with an LL.B. (Hons) degree in 2013. She joined Allen & Gledhill as a Practice Trainee in end-2013. During her time at Allen & Gledhill, she was seconded to the London office of a magic circle law firm.

Work Highlights

  • Advised CVC Capital Partners and other sellers as transaction counsel on the US$1.2 billion sale of PT Softex Indonesia to Kimberly-Clark Corporation in 2020.
  • Advised Ascott Residence Trust on the S$1.2 billion combination of Ascott Residence Trust and Ascendas Hospitality Trust to form the largest hospitality trust in Asia Pacific and eighth-largest trust globally in 2019. The transaction was the first stapling in Singapore of an already-listed real estate investment trust with a newly-constituted business trust to form a stapled trust to proceed with a combination with another listed stapled trust.  The transaction was awarded the M&A Deal of the Year (Midsize) at the ALB SE Asia Law Awards 2020.
  • Advised CapitaLand Commercial Trust on the S$2.1 billion acquisition of Asia Square Tower 2 by CapitaLand Commercial Trust from BlackRock Asia Property Fund III L.P., the largest single office real estate acquisition in Singapore in 2017.
