Both sides discussed, among other issues, how law firms and lawyers from China and Singapore could assist each other and work together more closely. Penny Goh said, “We are very keen to expand our cooperation with Chinese law firms and to further work together in Singapore, China as well as other countries. Law firms can play a part in bringing forward bilateral legal cooperation through secondments, visits, conferences and events. Such channels would facilitate the exchange of best practices and strengthen collaboration between the two countries.”

Vice Minister Xiong was accompanied by officials from the PRC Ministry of Justice and representatives from the PRC Embassy in Singapore as well as the Singapore Ministry of Law.
