27 March 2026

On 2 March 2026, the Ministry of Digital Development and Information (“MDDI”) announced the launch of the National AI Impact Programme (“NAIIP”) to strengthen Singapore’s AI capabilities across enterprises and workers. The NAIIP builds on Singapore’s National AI Strategy 2.0 and seeks to reinforce the Government’s commitment to harnessing AI for the public good.

The NAIIP aims to support 10,000 local enterprises to integrate AI into their business processes over the next three years. The support mechanisms under the NAIIP include the following:

  • Digital Leaders Accelerator Bootcamp (“DLAB”): The DLAB aims to build business leaders’ confidence in implementing AI. Through partnerships with the industry, the bootcamp will provide both business and technical know-how through hands-on AI project development. The Info-communications Media Development Authority (“IMDA”) will share more details in due course.
  • Wider range of AI solutions with Productivity Solutions Grant support: IMDA, with EnterpriseSG, has curated and pre-approved market proven cost-effective solutions from reputable vendors, and is providing grant support to reduce barriers for adoption by small and medium-sized enterprises.
  • Enhanced TechSkills Accelerator (“TeSA”) programme for professionals: IMDA will expand the TeSA initiative to help non-tech workers develop practical AI capabilities, enabling them to leverage AI to transform domain-specific workflows and boost productivity. The programme will start with the accountancy and legal professions, which operate across multiple industries and have high exposure to AI applications.
  • Sector-specific AI fluency programmes: Through partnerships with agencies and professional bodies, such as the Institute of Singapore Chartered Accountants, the Singapore Academy of Law, and the Singapore Corporate Counsel Association, IMDA will develop tailored AI fluency programmes to identify the key competencies needed to transform workflows with AI and the corresponding training needs. IMDA aims to launch these programmes in H1 2026.

As AI developments continue to impact the tech sector, IMDA will introduce an AI fluency programme to deepen tech capabilities within the tech workforce, including software engineers, so they can pivot to higher value tasks. More details will be announced in H1 2026.
