Yi Jia’s areas of practice include mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, corporate restructuring, and general corporate advisory work and employment law.
She has acted for publicly listed companies, privately-held companies and private equity firms across a broad spectrum of industries in a variety of transactions, including domestic and cross-border. She has advised on high-profile takeovers and privatisations in Singapore, and joint ventures involving multinational companies and companies listed on the Singapore Exchange.
Yi Jia was called to the Singapore Bar in 2008 upon graduating from King’s College London with an LL.B. (Hons) degree and University College London with an LL.M. degree. She joined Allen & Gledhill in 2007 as a pupil and was an Associate with the Firm until 2012, before spending time as corporate legal counsel of a company listed on the Singapore Exchange. She re-joined Allen & Gledhill in April 2015.
Work Highlights
- Advised Keppel Ltd. in relation to the disposal of its effective interests in two data centre buildings in Singapore, at a total gross value of S$1.38 billion.
- Advised Rohto Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. and Mitsui & Co., Ltd. on the S$800 million acquisition of approximately 86 per cent. of the ordinary shares in Eu Yan Sang International Ltd and the pre-conditional mandatory general offer to acquire all of its remaining ordinary shares.
- Advised Keppel Asia Infrastructure Fund LP and Keppel Infrastructure Holdings Pte. Ltd on a joint acquisition of 800 Super Holdings Limited, a leading Singaporean environmental services company.
- Acted for Mitsui & Co and Khazanah Nasional in their acquisition of a 20 per cent. stake each in Davita Care, a subsidiary of Davita Healthcare Partners.
- Acted for Phoon Huat & Company (“PHC”) in Standard Chartered Private Equity’s acquisition of a significant stake in the business and certain assets of PHC.
