SAL Practitioner: A contractor’s entitlement to adjudication - Judicial interpretation of amendments to the Building and Construction Industry Security of Payment Act 2004
Senior Associate Ng Wei Ying contributed an article titled “A contractor’s entitlement to adjudication: Judicial interpretation of amendments to the Building and Construction Industry Security of Payment Act 2004” to SAL Practitioner, published by the Singapore Academy of Law. The article discusses two decisions issued by the General Division of the Singapore High Court following applications made to set aside adjudication determinations. The first decision focused on when a payment claim is deemed to be served if the contract does not stipulate the date for service of a payment claim. In the second decision discussed, the court dealt with the claimant’s entitlement to an adjudication of payment claims served prior to the termination of its employment.
