The world has experienced unprecedented volatility and uncertainty across wide aspects of society, exacerbated by geopolitical instability, climate change and post-pandemic structural shifts. So much so that some posit that the world has gone beyond Volatile, Uncertain, Complex and Ambiguous (VUCA) and may be more aptly described as Brittle, Anxious, Non-linear and Incomprehensible (BANI). Having said that, the disruption to our paradigms and the breakthroughs in environmental cooperation and technology offer us opportunities to find better and more resilient ways to interact with each other and the world.
