6 January 2026

The Intellectual Property Office of Singapore (“IPOS”) has issued Patents Circular No. 1 of 2026 and Trade Marks Circular No. 2 of 2026 announcing that IPOS is reviewing the SG Patents Fast and SG Trade Marks Fast acceleration programmes (collectively, “Programmes”) and has suspended the acceptance of new acceleration requests under the Programmes from 4 January 2026 until further notice.

Acceleration requests received before 4 January 2026 that meet the qualifying requirements per the applicable Programme will have their office actions/applications accelerated.

The Programmes were launched on 20 May 2025, superseding the SG IP FAST pilot programme which concluded on 31 December 2024, with the intention of helping applicants receive office actions more quickly. Please read our article “IPOS launching new Patents and Trade Marks Acceleration Programmes on 20 May 2025” for more information on the Programmes.
