Singapore office of International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes to serve as its regional hub

On 26 August 2026, the Ministry of Law (“MinLaw”) announced the official launch of the Singapore office of the International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes (“ICSID”) by Minister for Law and Second Minister for Home Affairs Edwin Tong, SC and ICSID Secretary-General Martina Polasek. The launch follows the signing of a Letter of Intent between MinLaw and ICSID on 25 August 2025 to formalise the establishment of the ICSID Singapore Office. 

The Singapore office is ICSID’s first staffed office outside its Washington, DC headquarters and will serve as the ICSID’s regional hub for Asia and the Pacific. It will provide support to parties and counsel, deepen outreach to States, investors, and legal practitioners, and raise awareness of the full scope of ICSID’s offerings. The office will enable ICSID to better serve the region’s needs in investment dispute prevention, management, and resolution. 

Additionally, ICSID will have a presence at Maxwell Chambers Suites, which brings together local and regional offices of international dispute resolution institutions, law firms, chambers, and ancillary services.
