Allen & Gledhill Partners Lee Bik Wei and Lee May Ling contributed the 2025 update to the Anti-Corruption: Private Acquisitions and Joint Ventures (Singapore) practice note for Practical Law. The practice note discusses the anti-bribery and corruption law issues to consider when acquiring a private company or a business or establishing a joint venture in Singapore. It provides information on specific bribery and corruption offences in Singapore and who can be liable, defences, safe harbours, and exemptions that may apply, and penalties and sanctions that can be imposed.
Lee Bik Wei and Lee May Ling also contributed the Note for the Board on Anti-Corruption (Singapore). The note aims to assist legal counsel when providing an overview to the board of bribery and corruption risks in Singapore. It also contains a list of common “red flags” for bribery.
