Mei Ann’s areas of practice include acquisitions and divestments of commercial, retail, industrial and hospitality properties, structuring mixed developments, joint developments, built-to-suit leases, and data centre transactions. Her clients include REITs, private and listed companies, property developers, investment funds and data centre players.

Mei Ann graduated from the National University of Singapore with an LL.B. (Hons) degree in 1994. She was called to the Singapore Bar in 1995.

Work Highlights

  • Advised and acted for Singapore Telecommunications Limited in the redevelopment of its Comcentre headquarters.
  • Advised and acted for the Manager of ESR-LOGOS REIT in the divestment of a portfolio of five logistics assets located in the key logistics clusters in Singapore.
  • Acted for Mercatus Co-operative Limited in the divestment of Jurong Point and Swing By @ Thomson Plaza for an aggregate purchase consideration of approximately S$2.16 billion, which also involved the transfer of certain Mercatus’ employees to Link REIT and the transfer and handover of certain services, systems, software, data and/or equipment including the “M Privileges” loyalty programme, subject to certain conditions.
  • Acted Lendlease Global Commercial REIT in the acquisition of JEM located at 50 and 52 Jurong Gateway Road Singapore for approximately S$2.08 billion.
  • Acted Lendlease Global Commercial REIT in the acquisition of 313@somerset, a prime retail mall as part of its initial portfolio for S$1.003 billion.
  • Advised and acted for LOGOS, leading Asia Pacific logistics real estate specialist and part of ESR Group, in the joint investment, development and lease of a built-to-suit warehouse facility located at Tukang Innovation Drive.
  • Advised and acted for CapitaLand Investment Limited in the divestment of its issued share capital in a target company which owns a Grade A office building located in Singapore’s central business district.
  • Acted for Mapletree Pan Asia Commercial Trust in the divestment of 60 Anson Road, Singapore 079914, Mapletree Anson, for S$775 million.
  • Advised Soilbuild Group Holdings Limited and its controlling shareholder in a $900 million acquisition of all the issued units in Soilbuild Business Space REIT by way of a Trust Scheme of Arrangement and forward sale of certain assets held by SBGH entities.
