Antitrust developments in South-east Asia: April to June 2019
The second quarter of 2019 saw new guidelines on mergers and acquisitions in the telecommunications sector in Malaysia, the introduction of an expedited merger review in the Philippines, and the new 2018 Law on Competition in Vietnam take effect. Overall, competition authorities have showcased collaborative efforts with other government authorities to monitor competition in certain industries.
