In February 2021, the Government launched the Singapore Green Plan 2030 (“Green Plan”), which seeks to galvanise a whole-of-nation movement and advance Singapore’s national agenda on sustainable development. A progress update on the Green Plan was provided during the Committee of Supply Debate in March 2022 (“Progress Update”). As part of the Progress Update, the Government made various announcements aimed at spurring sustainable development in enterprises and the whole-of-society.

This article provides a brief overview of the initiatives under the Green Plan, including (1) support measures and grants for sustainable development, and (2) sustainability initiatives that bring new opportunities in certain sectors.

Organisations in the manufacturing, research and development, energy, green finance, carbon services and trading, sustainable tourism, land transport, built environment, and education sectors, in particular, can benefit from these initiatives.
