Aloysius specialises in banking and finance, with a strong focus on real estate financing, leveraged acquisition financing and fund financing transactions. He advises financial institutions as well as corporate borrowers, business trusts and private equity firms on domestic and cross-border finance transactions.

His experience spans bilateral and syndicated loans, real estate development and investment financings, leveraged and structured financings, takeover financings, project financings and fund financing transactions. He regularly acts as transaction counsel on complex, multi-jurisdictional financings in the Asia-Pacific region, particularly in Southeast Asia and Greater China, and has advised on a number of major investment and development financings across these markets.

Aloysius also advises banks and sponsors on infrastructure and project financings, including public-private partnership (PPP) projects in Singapore.

While his practice covers the full spectrum of conventional financing work, he also possesses experience in Islamic finance structures and has advised on sukuk issuances and Murabaha-based facilities.

Aloysius has been recognised as a highly regarded practitioner by IFLR1000, is ranked in Chambers Asia-Pacific, and was cited by a client for “his reliable service, reporting being impressed with his work rate, turnaround time and quick thinking’”.

Aloysius holds an LL.B. (Hons) degree from the National University of Singapore and a B.Sc. (Economics and Management) (First Class Honours) degree from the University of London. He was called to the Singapore Bar in 2010 when he joined Allen & Gledhill.

Work Highlights

  • Advised Logos SE Asia Pte Ltd on the US$120 million loan facilities from International Finance Corporation for the financing of its logistics facility development projects in Cikarang and Cibitung, West Java, Indonesia.
  • Advised DBS Bank Ltd and Oversea-Chinese Banking Corporation Limited on the project financing for the Jurong Island Desalination Plant project, Singapore’s fifth desalination plant owned and operated by a consortium formed by Tuas Power and ST Engineering under a public-private partnership model.
  • Advised Natixis Corporate & Investment Banking, AmInvestment Bank Berhad and AmBank Islamic Berhad, United Overseas Bank Limited, ING Bank N.V., Singapore Branch,  Affin Bank Berhad, CIMB Islamic Bank Berhad and CIMB Investment Bank Berhad, on the conventional loan and Islamic financing facilities of up to US$500 million granted to Yinson Production Offshore Pte. Ltd.
