Xeauwei’s areas of expertise encompass corporate litigation and international arbitration.
She has substantial experience handling banking disputes, shareholders’ disputes, trust and property disputes and commodities disputes. She is effectively bilingual in English and Chinese and has rendered expert opinions for proceedings in England and the People’s Republic of China.
Xeauwei has been recognised for her work in The Legal 500 Asia Pacific, and is cited to be “clear and concise” and to take “a well-rounded approach when looking for solutions”.
She graduated from the National University of Singapore with an LL.B. (Hons) degree and passed the Singapore Bar examinations ranked as the top 10 individuals of her year’s cohort.
Work Highlights
- Acted for a leading international bank in successfully defending a private banking customer’s claim for alleged mis-selling, where the Court of Appeal judgment provided useful guidance on the duties of banks in the sale of structured products to customers.
- Acted for the Singapore arm of an Indian multinational conglomerate in successfully defending arbitration proceedings commenced by a PRC conglomerate over the sale and purchase of iron ore.
- Acted for the trustee-manager of a SGX-ST listed business trust in obtaining court sanction for the first scheme of arrangement of a business trust in Singapore.
